Calculated Transparent model output

Metricon applies the displayed formula to the inputs on this page.

Assumption Model boundary

Scenario inputs and defaults are not measured facts unless you supplied them from a controlled source.

Review Human decision

Compare the result with approved product directions, actual operating conditions and accountable judgement.

FormulaTask hours = Σ(count × minutes × daily frequency) ÷ 60 · Daily work hours = task hours × (1 + allowance ÷ 100) · Staff equivalent = daily work hours ÷ productive hours

Daily cleaning tasks

Use a count that matches the measured time: rooms, fixtures, bins, or one measured area. Enter repeats per day.

Task 1

One daily shift per person. Replace the example with your schedule.

hours

Breaks, travel, setup and other time excluded from the task measurements. Avoid counting it twice.

hours

Whole people assigned to the same daily workload and shift.

people

Explicit scenario allowance applied to task hours; it is not an industry benchmark.

How it works

Define the daily tasks

Add each task with a clear counting unit, such as rooms or fixtures. Enter its count and the number of times it is performed per day.

Use measured task times

Enter minutes per task from your site observations. Replace example values and keep the method, equipment and service scope consistent.

Set productive shift time

Enter shift hours, non-cleaning hours, available people and your planning buffer. Avoid counting the same allowance in both task time and the buffer.

Review hours and capacity

Compare required daily hours with available capacity. Use staff equivalents and rounded-up people as planning scenarios, then review actual work and service quality.

Frequently asked questions

Where should task times come from?

Use locally measured minutes for the task, equipment and agreed service scope. Example inputs are illustrative and are not industry productivity benchmarks.

Why can staff equivalents differ from required people?

Staff equivalents divide required hours by productive hours per person. Required people round that result up; actual assignments still need a supervisor’s review.

Does sufficient capacity prove cleaning quality?

No. This estimates labour time from the inputs. Task completion, access, training and inspection evidence must be reviewed separately against the approved service standard.
